본 연구의 목적은 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램을 활용하여 학령기 아동의 스트레스를 줄이고 자아존중감을 향상하는데 있다. 연구문제의 가설은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램은 아동의 스트레스를 감소시킬 것
이다. 둘째, 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램은 아동의 자아존중감을 향상시킬 것이다. 본 연구는 대구시 동구에 소재하
는 OO초등학교 5학년 아동 192명을 대상으로, 사전검사를 통해 높은 수준의 스트레스를 가지고 있는 24명을 프로그램
에 참여 시켰다. 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 프로그램을 실시하기 전에 실험집단과 통제집단을 구분하였으며,
각각 12명씩 무작위로 실험집단과 통제집단으로 나누었다. 프로그램은 일주일에 2번 실시하였으며, 각 회기당 45분씩
총 12회기로 구성하였다. 그 결과, 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램은 초등학교 5학년 아동의 스트레스를 감소시켰으며
자아존중감을 향상시켰다. 첫째, 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램은 통계적으로 유의미 하게 학령기 아동의 스트레스를
감소시켰으며, 그 효과는 프로그램이 끝난 후에도 지속되었다. 둘째, 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램은 학령기 아동의
자아존중감을 향상시켰으며, 그 효과는 지속되었다. 이는 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램이 스트레스 감소와 자아존중감
을 향상에 효과가 있음을 보여준다.
영어 초록
The purpose of this study is to narrative therapy group counseling program for the children in an upper grade ofelementary school on the reduction of stress and the improvement of self-esteem. The hypotheses to be tested were
as follows. First, the narrative therapy group counseling program will reduce the stress of the children. Secondly, the
narrative therapy group counseling program will improve the self-esteem of the children. This study of 192 children
in 5th grade attending OO elementary school located on Dong-gu of Daegu city, 24 students who were measured to
have a high level of stress in the pretest volunteered to participate in the program. To test the effectiveness of the
program, we chose the experimental group and the control group through the pre-test before the program. 12
students were randomly assigned in the experimental group and the other 12 students in the control group. The
program was conducted two times a week, each time taking 45 minutes and 12 sessions.
The results show that narrative therapy group counseling program is effective to both decrease stress and improve
self-esteem for children in 5 grade attending the elementary school. First, the narrative therapy group counseling
program proved to be effective in reducing stress of the upper elementary school graders with a statistical
significance and the effects seemed to remain after that. Secondly, it was statistically proved that the narrative
therapy group counseling program was effective in improving self-esteem of the upper elementary school graders and
the effects remained after that. In conclusion, the narrative therapy group counseling program is effective in reducing
stress and improving self-esteem for the children.
