한국어 초록
An animation is a visual media that conveys a narrative through drawn, framed, filmed and screened images. A frame as a basic unit of animation production is the composition of images such as characters and background, which shapes and colors are selected and created to communicate a story with the audience by a animation producer. Focusing on the color of film animation, this study aims to show how the color relate and contribute to transmit the narrative of animations.Starting from the theory about three attributes of color(hue, brightness, saturation) and visual perception, this paper show how those properties are used partially to express the narrative of two commercial animations, <Porco Rossa> and <Sinbad: Legend Of The Seven Seas>, and also how they contribute to the entire dramatic structure ultimately. It examined the sample images of animations and plotted the variation of hue, brightness, saturation according to the narrative, 12 stages of 'the hero's journey' which was originated by Campbell's "the monomyth" and modified by Vogler.
