본문내용
If you have ever compared an electric guitar to an acoustic guitar, you know that they have several important things in common. Both acoustic and electric guitars have six strings, they both tune those strings with tuning pegs and they both have frets on a long neck. But there are three different things between an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar : the body feature, the playing style, and the type of music.
There is a certain physical difference between electric and acoustic guitars. Down at the body is where the difference is found. Electric guitars have solid bodies, magnetic pickups and several knobs which can be used for changing volume and tone, instead of the hollow resonating cavity found in an acoustic guitar. If you pluck a string on an electric guitar that is not plugged in, the sound is barely audible. That sound is made by small vibrations of its solid body and string. Without a soundboard and a hollow body, there is nothing to amplify the string`s vibrations.
