본문내용
Every country has some unique traditions and customs. In England people are really strict about teatime. It sounds funny that everything is closed just to drink a cup of tea, but it is their tradition. People call some countries "third world" because they think these countries are not civilized. However, it is not true; they just have their own tradition that we are not used to. Korea, my native country, has many traditions that American people would not understand.
For example, Koreans eat seaweed soup on their birthday. Seaweed soup is made with brown seaweed. Brown seaweed contains much iodine. Iodine supplies blood, changes impure blood to pure blood, and helps in the secretion of mother’s milk. Because of these reasons, when women deliver babies, they eat seaweed soup for recovery. So when people have birthday, they eat seaweed soup, and remember the struggle of their mother and give thank for their parents. Although seaweed soup is for a celebration, people don`t eat before a test. Because the texture of seaweed is slippery, they believe you might slip and fail in that test. So seaweed is bad luck before a test. Korean culture is very complicated a tradition something could mean totally different by how you understand and use it.
