Confucius is the founder of Confucianism. He was born 551 B.C during the late warring states period. To Confucius, benevolence(仁) and courtesy(禮) are very important principles.
He did not flatter to those in high position who exercises power, but paid one’s respect whenever it was necessary. When Confucius encountered those of obscure birth, he perceived their potentials and taught to help them develop their strengths. Confucianism, which Confucius is the founder, can help solve numerous dilemmas that modern China is currently facing. Confucius emphasized "To see profit and remember morality(見利思義)”, which means to think whether it is right or wrong to take a benefit to yourself when it is presented in front of you. This virtue is a key concept that China could refer to fight against corruption. also, he emphasized “Straighten a cause(必也, 正名乎)”, which points out that elites of a state have to establish their duties and roles.
