1-1. Grammatical / Structural Syllabus
① Development
- the assumption: T taught a language, learners naturally have the knowledge after the teaching (a certain knowledge: objectives/terminal behaviors of language teaching) and ss will automatically be able to use it in genuine communication outside
- Language consisted of a finite set of rules which could be combined in various ways and that could be learned in an additive and linear manner
② Grammatical / Structural Syllabus
- centering around grammar and structures
- the role of grammatical/structural syllabus: to divide the terminal behaviors into "pedagogically manageable items" and to select the items for coverage in the language course, and to rate the order in which these items would be covered
