Language has a close relationship with culture and the real world. Sapir Wolf said ‘The real world is inherent in a community as a language habit unconsciously and this experienced and acquired language habit in a community effects our decisions.’ The usage of language shows a person’s path of life and cultural background. Language habits particularly show the degree of a human being’s politeness, ‘which is the basis of social life.’ A human being’s cultural and social behaviors are closely related with politeness and it is easily examinable in the language that people use. And, since we belong to diverse communities which need us to work together, ‘understanding various languages with cultures is the foundation of Human social life.’
There is a story of a blind man who was walking down the road with a water pail on his head, holding one lamp in his hand. A man saw the blind and said, ‘What a silly man. Whether you carry a lamp or not you are in darkness. Why are you carrying a lamp? The blind said ‘this is for you too. To prevent me from bumping into you.’ I believe that having an understanding in language politeness is the same thing as having a lamp. Humans are in diverse communities and have different backgrounds. For this reason, each person obviously has different values and attitudes towards life. Since Human beings are social creatures,
