푸아송 비

When a sample of material is stretched in one direction it tends to contract (or rarely, expand) in the other direction. Poisson`s ratio(??), is a measure of this tendency. Poisson`s ratio is the ratio of the relative contraction strain, or transverse strain (normal to the applied load), divided by the relative extension strain, or axial strain, (in the direction of the applied load). Assuming that the material is compressed along the axial direction:
표본 소재가 한 방향으로 늘어날 때, 다른 방향으로는 수축되는 경향이 있다.(드물게 늘어나기도 한다.) 푸아송 비(γ)는 이러한 경향에 대한 측정값이다. 푸아송 비는 상대적인 수축 변형이나 횡축 변형(하중이 가해진 방향의 수직)을 상대적인 신장 변형 또는 축 방향 변형(하중이 가해지는 방향)으로 나눈 비율이다. 소재가 축 방향을 따라 압축된다고 가정한다.

In engineering mechanics, bending(also known as flexure) characterizes the behavior of a structural element subjected to an external load applied perpendicular to the axis of the element. A structural element subjected to bending is known as a beam. A closet rod sagging under the weight of clothes on clothes hangers is an example of a beam experiencing bending.
A torsion is the twisting of an object due to an applied torque. In circular sections, the resultant shearing stress is perpendicular to the radius.
