Bibimbap is the new rising star of traditional Korean food. With its fresh taste and high nutritional value, it is grasping the attention of gourmets around the world. The word Bibimbap literally means mixed meal or mixed rice in Korean. From the name, you can already guess what the food will be like. It’s a dish made by mixing up the rice with various other ingredients like vegetables, beef garnish, eggs, sesame oil and red pepper paste. The most important part of eating Bibimbap is that you mix up all of the ingredients. This is what intrigues and attracts many westerners. Most dishes are served with their final results in Europe or America and all you have to do is grab the fork and knife and start eating. In the case of Bibimbap, the process of food making isn’t over even when it is served to the guest. Bibimbap is served in a rather artistic condition. All of the ingredients are neatly and softly laid over the rice and it makes you hesitant to destroy it. However, to eat it properly, you have to.
