1. Introduction
ADMS-Urban is a model commonly used by local authorities all
over Europe for urban air quality forecasting.
It is well known that road traffic is one of the main sources of
pollution affecting air quality in urban areas.
- NOx, CO, PM, benzene and volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
The aim is to examine the ADMS-Urban
the importance of the emission factor database and the meteorological database was analysed.
Then, the performance of the model was evaluated by comparing predicted and measured
Finally, a diagnostic evaluation of the systemin terms of relevant meteorological parameters – such as wind speed, wind direction and atmospheric stability – was performed.
2. Modelling system description
The town of Ravenna (NE Italy) has been chosen as the study
area (Fig. 1a). A 9 9-km grid covering the whole town of Ravenna has
been chosen as the simulation domain (Fig. 1b)
