American Dream have two meanings.
First, other countries do not have equality among their citizens. Noblemen take power centering around the class, wealth and authority. So although commoner work hard, they do not get off with their class and success in their social. In contrast this universal atmosphere, America doesn`t. In twenty century, many people immigrated to America from their country. Some of the immigrants become a mainstream in America(especially Europeans do). In America people actually have a chance in which people can advance to the next level and become more than just poor. So American Dream means the expectation that everyone can success by their effort regardless of their position and circumstance.
Second, American Dream is a term to talk about American desire to achieve Ideal social in America.
