Part 1 SUMMARYBuilding a cluster: Electrics and Information Technology in Costa Rica
Once Jose Maria Figueres became president of Costa Rica in 1994, the new government wants to shift from agriculture country to be more technology based as of his government`s vision. 2 years later, Intel Corporation invests on ATP plant in Costa Rica which made big step move toward "electronics and information technology cluster". However, Costa Rica needs to pursue developing and moving their economy after this veer.

Costa Rica, officially the Republic of Costa Rica is located in Central America , bordered by Nicaragua ,

Intel tried to pursue a potential country with less risk, i.e. the country with political stability, to construction a new ATP Plant and finally Costa Rica was chosen. Intel also convinced and clarified about the circle of economic development (see exhibit 7) starting with more development in economy would allow greater investment. Greater investment meant better education. Better education meant more innovation of technology. And rising in technology meant more economic development. This circle could meet with the President Figurers` vision that wanted to shift Costa Rica in economic development to go to further
