교류분석을 통해서 본 재가불자들의 자아상태와 스트로크에 관한 연구

본 연구는 교류분석(TA)이론을 통한 재가불자들의 마음의 구조인 자아상태와 대인간 스트로크 교환방식을 검사를 통해 객관적으로 분석하여 향후 재가불자들의 자아성장과 인간관계 개선을 위한 불교상담의 기초자료로 삼고, 나아가 재가불자들의 일반적 특성별로 불교상담 장면에 적용 할 수 있는 교류분석 훈련프로그램을 개발하는 초석으로 삼고자 함을 목적으로 탐색적 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 위해 2006년 8월부터 9월까지 전국의 재가불자들을 대상으로 이고그램과 스트로크 설문지를 배부하였고, 회수된 설문지 428부를 분석하여 재가불자들의 자아상태와 스트로크 교환 및 자아상태와 스트로크와의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 재가불자들의 마음의 구조로 볼 때 A주도형 C결핍형으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자아상태의 기능분석 결과 NP주도형 FC결핍형으로 나타나났다. 셋째, 성별 기능분석에 의한 자아상태는 남자의 경우 NP주도형 AC결핍형으로 나타났고, 여자의 경우 NP주도형 FC결핍형이었다. 넷째, 신행목적별 기능분석에 의한 자아상태는 ‘자기성찰과 참선을 위해서’라고 응답한 불자들이 AC를 제외한 모든 기능에서 자아점수가 높게 나타났고, 신행목적이 ‘변화와 고통치유를 위해서’라고 응답한 불자들이 AC를 제외한 모든 자아점수가 낮았다. 다섯째, A와 NP는 상호 긍정적 스트로크를 교환과 높은 상관을 보였고, 대인간 스트로크 교환은 부정적 스트로크보다 긍정적 스트로크 교환이 많았다. 여섯째, 기능별 자아상태와 스트로크의 상관관계분석 결과, NP는 내가 타인에게 주는 긍정적 스트로크(r=.523), 내가 타인으로부터 받는 긍정적 스트로크(r=.714)와 높은 상관관계를 보였고, A는 내가 타인으로부터 받는 긍정적 스트로크(r=.586)와 높은 정적 상관을 보였다. 이상과 같은 분석결과에 기초하여, 향후 교역자들이 재가불자들을 위한 TA 프로그램의 개발이나 수행 지도에 TA가 활용되어 질 수 있기를 기대한다.

영어 초록

This study is aimed at two purposes. Firstly, to provide a basis for Buddhist counseling for ego growth and interpersonal relationship improvement of the Buddhist lay believers through an objective analysis on the structural ego states and interpersonal stroke exchanges among lay Buddhist believers by using Transactional Analysis(TA) methods. Secondly, to lay out a foundation for TA training program module which can be applied to the Buddhist counseling field by categories of their general characteristics. In order to conduct this research, questionnaires to check ego-grams and stroke exchanges among the lay Buddhist believers were handed out to approximately 700 Buddhist believers across the country for a period of two months from August to September, 2006. A total of 428 solid responses were collected and analyzed their respective ego states and stroke exchanges along with the interrelationships of the two factors. The analysis of the respondents's ego states and stroke exchanges has resulted in six significant findings as follows: 1. The Buddhist lay believers showed a structure of their ego states of leading “Adult (A)” ego with deficient “Child (C)” ego. 2. The functional analysis of their ego states showed a pattern of leading “Nurturing Parent (NP)” with deficient “Free Child (FC)”. 3. The result of functional analysis by gender showed that male has a leading NP with deficient “Adapted Child (AC)”, while female has a leading NP with deficient “Free Child (FC)”. 4. According their goals for Buddhist faith, those believers stating it for “self-reflection and meditation” have showed high points of all ego levels except the Adapted Child, while those believers stating their faith goal for “change and healing sufferings and pains” have showed low points of all ego states except Adapted Child 5. Adult (A) and Nurturing Parent (NP) showed a high level of co-relationship with mutual exchanges of positive strokes among them, and for inter-personal stroke exchanges, they exchanged positive strokes more than negative strokes. 6. The co-relationship analysis between functional ego states and stroke exchanges showed that NP had highly related functions between them along with the positive strokes which I give to others (r=.523) and the positive strokes which I receive from others (r=.714). Adult (A) showed high emotional relationship with positive strokes which I receive from others (r=.586). On the basis of the above listed analytical results, the clergy leaders can further develop transaction analysis (TA) training programs for the lay Buddhist believers and TA methods can be used for faith training and meditation.
