Experiment progress and plans
The purpose of this experiment is to understand how to use DAC and complement circuit that inputs and outputs with range we wanted.
In this experiment, we use DAC0800, R-2R current mirror 8bit DAC. R-2R ladder structure is very significant in this chapter.
R-2R DACR-2R current mirror DAC
The most important reason that why we use R-2R DAC is that we can save circuit`s area. Resister line DAC, Thermometer DAC, Binary weighted DAC require elements. Also, Binary weighted DAC require to maintain accurate ratio of elements but if element is bigger, ratio will be not accurate and display of DAC will be interrupted.
Therefore, the R-2R ladder structure, need only elements and we can greatly diminish area. Using it, we will also make R-2R current mirror DAC.
