Media of today has an enormous influence to international society. It is modernized with Information Technology which generated the Internet. Nowadays, people can collect a tremendous amount of information through the Internet, TV and publications. We are living in an information-based society. Hence, the information that we hear should be factual and unbiased. Media which should be balanced and unbiased tend to have a political point of view. In terms of political inclination, Fox Media is the most notorious example. Some other media also have a political slant but not as much as Fox Media. Fox Media has been criticized for its unfair and unbalanced information by many analysts, especially for the distorted reports of Fox News. In this essay, I will attempt to demonstrate how they buy public opinion and sway (even shift) the U.S. voters. At the same time, the essay will show some evidence of distortion while presenting some of the techniques they are using to strengthen their perspective. The conclusion of this essay will include my personal opinion on media’s political position.
