본문내용
In the essay Master, Machine, and Meaning: Printed Images in Twentieth-Century India, Stephen R. Inglis presents and evaluates the influence of the modern technology of producing images on the Indian Pop art, particularly on the "framing pictures"(which refers to images on a single sheet of paper). Through the process, he attempts to argue many art historians studying Indian art and Benjamin Walter’s generalized view on the influence of mass production, in which "the technique of reproduction detaches the reproduced object from the domain of tradition". Ultimately, this argument extends to a denial to the generalization of the notion regarding the influence of mechanically reproduced images in all societies; it may not have a uniform influence in all societies.
