When I first saw this book, I thought "I’ve read this book before!" But the book still made me interested, like the first time I read this book.
Emily Bronte wrote this book. I think that the fact she wrote it made the book friendlier. The Bronte sisters are my favorite writers.
The way Emily Bronte described Wuthering Heights totally exceeded my expectation. I have read the book when I was in elementary school. Back then I had not much time, and did not try very hard to understand the book. But I took this assignment as a chance to re-read the book. Now I know why this book is so famous and is mentioned by many.
The story starts out when Lockwood visits his landlord Heathcliff’s house to discuss the rent. While visiting there, he found out that the Heathcliff family has a strange air among them. He also found a diary that once belonged to a person named Catherine Earnshaw. Once he reads it, he becomes curious about who this Catherine is. So he asks a housemaid in his place, Thrushcross Grange, named Ellen Dean- who used to live in Wuthering Heights in Catherine’s time. Ellen then tells the story of Catherine.
Ellen Dean’s story starts off as the late Mr. Earnshaw came back from his travel from Liverpool, with a young, dark-haired, dirty little boy. The family took him in and named him Heathcliff, and raised him as his own son. Little Cathy, Mr. Earnshaw’s daughter, and Mr. Earnshaw loved him dearly, but not Hindley Earnshaw, Mr. Earnshaw’s son
