The purpose of this study was to explore the developmental tasks and educational activities of adult life.Specifically, this study seeks to understand how people as adults develop and change as they age and to
highlight how and what older people have learned throughout their lives in accordance with the
developmental issues and changes in their lives. In-depth interviews were conducted in a variety of settings
with 11 people who were over 65 years old. There were six primary categories of findings. They are
‘searching for the future', ‘adjusting for changes', ‘passion for sucess', ‘becoming parents', ‘keeping
balance in life', and ‘reviewing old life'. First and second, as people grow older, they were concerned
about their future career and being independent, and they adjusted for changes. Third and fourth, people
started their first real job, becoming financially independent, marriage, and parenting, and they worked with
passion for success. Fifth, the participants discovered and tried to maintain a life balance in their middle
age. Finally, people re-reviewed their entire lives. These results are consistent with the previous studies on
adult development. The results also indicated that the participation of adults in learning is closely related
to their developmental issues and changes in their lives.
