한국어 초록

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 중학교 ‘도덕’, 고등학교 ‘(국민)윤리’교과서(교사용 지도서 포함)의 개발 역정을 제3차 교육과정기로부터 제7차 교육과정기에 이르기까지 밝힌 것이었다.
제3차와 제4차 교육과정기는 한국교육개발원이 중학교 ‘도덕’, 고등학교 ‘국민윤리’교과서 개발을 전담했던 시기였다. 중학교 ‘도덕’은 학년별 1권씩 3권이 편찬되었는데 교과서 내용선정원칙은 전통적인 윤리학설과 4개 생활영역에 근거하였고, 고등학교 ‘국민윤리’교과서는 전 학년 1권이 편찬되었는데 반공교육과 발달과업 실현의 원리와 가치관 형성의 원리에 따라 편찬되었다. 교과서의 외형적 체제는 중학교 ‘도덕’, 고등학교 ‘국민윤리’ 모두 국판의 소형, 흑백 인쇄의 수준이었다.
제5차 교육과정기는 한국교육개발원이 중학교 ‘도덕’교과서 개발을, 서울대학교 사범대학 국민윤리교육과에서 고등학교 ‘국민윤리’교과서 개발을 담당한 역할 분담의 시기였다. 중학교 ‘도덕’은 권수나 내용 선정원칙 모두 제3, 4차와 거의 같았다. 고등학교 ‘국민윤리’ 교과서는 종전과 같이 3개 학년 1권이 편찬되었는데 한국인으로서 바람직한 윤리관이나 윤리체계를 갖게 하는데 역점을 두었다. 교과서의 외형적 체제는 종전과 별 차이가 없었다.
제6차와 제7차의 교육과정기는 서울대학교 사범대학 국민윤리교육과에서 중학교 ‘도덕’교과서와 고등학교 ‘윤리’교과서의 개발을 둘 다 담당한 시기였다. 제6차에서 중학교 ‘도덕’은 종전처럼 3권이 편찬되었는데 「한국도덕윤리과교육학회」의 연구 결과에 따라 내용선정원칙을 정하였다. 고등학교 ‘윤리’는 전 학년 1권인데 내용선정 원칙으로는 한국인으로서의 바람직한 윤리적 인식체계와 이념적 시각을 갖게 하는 것이었다. 제7차에서는 교육과정체계가 근본적으로 변경되어 중학교 1학년부터 고등학교 1학년까지가 ‘도덕’, 고등학교 2~3학년에는 ‘시민윤리’ ‘윤리와 사상’ ‘전통윤리’의 3개 선택과목을 개설하였다. 그에 따른 새 교과서가 편찬되었고, 교과서는 종전에 비해 거의 2배 크기의 판형, 총천연색 사진과 고급지질 등 모든 면에서 선진국형 수준의 교과서를 편찬하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine how the textbook of moral education for the middle school students, and of (national) ethics education for the high school students was developed and edited from the 3rd curriculum period to the 7th curriculum period in Korean secondary schools.
The 3rd(1973, 1974-1981) and 4th curriculum periods(1981-1987, 1988) were the time when Korean Education Development Institute took charge of the development of moral education textbook for the middle schools students and of national ethics education textbook for the high school students. The moral education textbooks for the middle schools student, 3 books for each school year, were developed on the theoretical basis of traditional ethical theories, i.e., the deontological and the teleological, while the national ethics education textbook for the high school, 1 book for 3 years, was developed on the principle of anti-communism education plus the realization of values formation
The 5th curriculum period(1987, 1988-1992) was the time when KEDI and the Department of National Ethics Education, College of Education, Seoul National University shared the responsibility of developing secondary textbooks of moral education for the middle school students and of national ethics education for the high school students. The principle of content selection for the moral education in the middle school was very similar to that of 3rd and 4th curriculum period, while that of content selection for the high school was drastically changed to the extent that desirable ethical views and ethical systems of Korea were very emphasized.
The 6th(1992-1997) and 7th curriculum periods(1997-2007) were the time when the Department of National Ethics Education, College of Education, Seoul National University took charge of the development of moral education textbooks for the middle and high schools. However, the textbooks of moral education for the middle school students and of ethics education for the high schools students for the 6th curriculum period were very similar to that of the 5th curriculum but those for the 7th curriculum periods were drastically changed from that of the 6th curriculum: the new 7th curriculum designed 'Moral Education' from the 1st grade in the middle school to the 1st grade in the high school(4grades) plus 3 selective courses of 'Citizen Ethics', ’Ethics and Thoughts', 'Traditional Ethics'. The textbook for the 7th curriculum period showed a very dramatic progress in its appearance and quality of edition to the extent that we can usually meet in the most of development countries.
