Now that we’ve discussed different worldviews, such as Christian Theism, Deism, Naturalism, Nihilism, Existentialism and Eastern Pantheistic Monism, it is our turn to discuss The New Age movement and Postmodernism.
Those who are unsatisfied with the Western way of thinking can find a refuge in the East, but Eastern philosophy is so different, so foreign, that Westerners never quite grow accustomed to it. This is where the new age comes in. The new age movement started in the 1970′s, so it really is not new anymore. It still has problems and many contradictions, but many people have accepted this unique worldview.
These are the basic tenets of the New Age.
1) Whatever the nature of being (idea or matter, energy or particle) the self is the kingpin -- the prime reality. As human beings grow in their awareness and grasp of this fact, the human race is on the verge of a radical change in human nature; even now we see harbingers of transformed humanity and prototypes of the New Age.
