I chose marriage as the subject of this essay primarily because marriage, without doubt, is one of the most important events in life. However, a great number of people, more than you expect, suffer from marriage. Some take marriage too lightly while others take too many conditions into account when considering marriage. Many of us forget what the single most thing in marriage is - love. Society has a lot of job to deal with marriage in these days. The divorce rate in Korea is constantly rising, and divorce is triggering social problems. Recent statistics showed that Korea has the divorce rate of 40 % approximately, which is the highest among OECD countries. It all starts with wrong marriage. As a college student, it is not bad to think about marriage and get prepared for it in advance because most of us are going to have a marriage sometime in the future anyway. Of course, my personal interest in marriage definitely contributed to the choice.
