① Speaking is considered by many to be the fundamental skill in L2 learning
- In productive approach(CLT, Silent way, ALM), speaking is main skill
② Speaking is staggeringly complex
- consist of a number of characteristics of speaking such as clustering, hesitation markers, pausing, colloquial language(slang, idioms), supra segmental feature(stress, rhythm, intonation)
