본문내용In 1992, the AAUW reported that public schools shortchanged girls, and since then interest in single sex schools has been on the rise. Many proponents of single sex schools have claimed that girls appear to benefit greatly from single sex schools, with copious anecdotal evidence. The evidence of proponents seems to support the benefits of single sex school. Anita P. Davis, director of teacher education at Converse College, however, said “With teachers who treat them fairly, girl students can perform academically as well as male students in the same class.” I agree with Davis; single-sex education is not necessarily better than coeducation, if the school provides proper systems for education.
