Nowadays, a lot of students are considering going abroad to study. Students who have plans to go other countries have an ambition and an expectation that living in a new country will be always exciting and easy. However, sometimes living in a new country is not quite as simple as students expect. International students can get frustrated and experience amazing things they have never seen before. I was also surprised when I first came to the United States. There are three things that surprised me when I first came to the United States.

The first thing surprising experience that I had is hamburgers’ price. When I arrived at SeaTac airport, I was hungry because I could not eat in-flight meals, so I went to McDonalds to eat hamburgers. Actually, before I came to the United States, I had thought that hamburgers are much cheaper in America than in Korea because hamburgers are one of the most quintessential American foods in the United States. However, it was more expensive than I thought, so I was just so surprised when I saw the menu table.
