1. Biquad Filter
This biquad filter was not made in experiment.
2. RC Filter
① Experiment`s goal
Understand the characteristics and operating principles of a 1st order RC HPF.
② Design procedure
This schematic is the connection of regulator, sensor and RC high-pass filter. Since we had to get data using sensor, I add regulator and sensor on the RC high-pass filter schematic. In this figure, sensor output is connected to RC high-pass filter.
Since capacitor`s impedance is 1/j2πfC, it works as open switch when sensor output is DC(f=0). As the frequency increases, impedance of capacitor is reduced, so voltage loaded on resistor increases. That means, circuit output increases. In conclusion, this RC circuit works as high-pass filter.
In this RC HPF, we can control the cut-off frequency by changing element values.
(Since cut-off frequency=). Taking teaching assistance`s advice, we adjusted cut-off frequency to almost 7Hz(7.23432Hz, precisely) by changing element values.(C=0.22uF, R=100kΩ)
