I have three meals a day. Also I take a vitamin C tablet every day. Moreover I do not eat some tasteless food if I do not want to eat them. It is a familiar behavior to me. I have never thanked to anyone for it. I never experience hunger and famine. When I watched some films or documentary about the poor in Africa it seemed pathetic, but that is all. No more than that feeling. I did not do anything for them, and I forgot that tragedy soon.
Because I have never learned it in detail in my school before, I thought it has nothing to do with me. Even the only thing what I learned from my economy class is the theory of natural selection. I believed that the reason the poor in Africa is their laziness. I realized that it was our excuse after reading this book ‘Hunger in the world Explained to my Son’. It was just the method to justify our attitude which is just watching it without doing anything. We adapt that concept to starvation because we do not want to feel sense of guilty comes from not helping them.
