Ethics Demoting Publicly Funded Space Programs in USA
Introduction
In America, huge allocation in the budget is placed on science and research and some few related social services. In funding researches, the federal government had established a national Science foundation with the primary mission of intrinsic basic science. The government has for a long time entrusted this foundation such that it has been offered the responsibility of funding different researches in universities. In the 1960s and 1970s, the research entrusted bodies such as the NASA, DOE, USDA and DOD enjoyed significant research applied budgets, this budget was cut down tremendously due to some undisclosed political reasons. When Bush ascended to power, he initiated a mission oriented structure that supported science and engineering (US Congress 61).
According to the United States congress, it emerged that research formed key component of the US economy and the federal government had to increase its budget allocation to support the research activities of different agencies (61). In responding for the future needs of its citizens, the United States has prioritized its key development policies on research and development. This is believed to coined agenda for a better America (Marien and World Future Society 79).
