2. In order to recover the original message signal, low pass filter (LPF) can be used. In fact, the LPF plays a role of "averaging" or "smoothing" in time domain. Please explain why.
In an opposite way to number one, to recover the original message signal, we can use the Low Pass Filter. You can see only one original message signal in time domain, however, there are lots of replicas in frequency domain. All frequencies inside a Low Pass Filter are kept, and all others discarded.
Thus, Low Pass Filter can play a role of smoothing the signal, removing the high frequency component.
