Digital media is changing the way that contents is uncovered, gathered and distributed. If searching for the contents was the most important development of the last decade, sharing the contents is the most critical of the next.
When thinking about the characteristics of digital media, it’s ongoing, real time, two-way collaboration. The distinction between producer and consumer will grow increasingly hazy. Reading the news is no longer passive, it’s active. Social networks and mobile tools allow people to better share news anytime, anywhere. They actively participate in developing and distributing stories.
In new multi-platform media environment, the contents is becoming portable, personalized, and participatory.
Nowadays, platform is moving from offline to online and we all know about the importance of new media, digital media. Digital media provide an alternative space for deviant, dissident or non-traditional views, and allow for the creation of new, alternative communities that can provide a voice for those normally marginalized by the mainstream media. However, some questions to solve still remains.
