Ⅰ.Introduction

1. Ford Motor Company
The Ford Motor Company is an American multinational corporation based in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. The automaker was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903. In addition to the Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury brands, Ford also owns a small stake in Mazda of Japan and Aston Martin of England. Ford introduced methods for large-scale manufacturing of cars and large-scale management of an industrial workforce using elaborately engineered manufacturing sequences typified by moving assembly lines. Henry Ford`s methods came to be known around the world as Fordism by 1914. Ford is currently the fourth-largest automaker in the world based on number of vehicles sold annually, directly behind Volkswagen.

2. Ford mission(1)
One team, One plan and One goal is the ONE Ford plan that Ford Motor Company is using to transform their business

3. Ford vision
Vision is to provide sustainable transportation that is affordable in every sense of the word: socially, environmentally and economically.

Ⅱ. Industry environment analysis(external analysis)

1. The five forces of competition(2)s
1) Threat of New Entrants →tend to be high(moderate to high)
The new entrants would have to achieve substantial market share to reach minimum efficient scale, and if it does not, it may be at a significant cost disadvantage. But, several cases are indications that large size may not be as important as commonly assumed. Recently, Chinese auto manufacturers will likely provide the next wave of new entrants into the U.S market.
