본문내용

Mining is an integration of various disciplines since there are numerous unknowns and risks under the earth crust. To identify these unknowns/risks and make the project materialized, the coordination of all relevant areas is essential.

In particular, geologic information is the basic part and plays a crucial role for mining business since they are important inputs for many mining requirements. Small error of geological input may lead to fatal mistake of mining activity thereafter. Some geological information is so enormous that it can’t be overlooked. E. L. Ohle (1972) once briefly described major geological and non-geological factors for iron ore mining. Besides, after the decision to mine is made, cooperation and communication between mine geologists and mining engineers become even more momentous.

In this paper, it is discussed that how much geological information affects mining requirements by category and how its influence could vary on different assumptions.
