A Journey to a Disordered City
It would have been a boring, but safe long weekend if it weren’t for a journey to a disordered city. Being lost in an unfamiliar place where it was cold and 180 miles away from home made us feel insecure. Tae Eun, Hyun Jung, Tommy, Chad, David, and I left our dorm with wallets, cell phones, car keys, and a bag stuffed with toothbrushes and sets of casual clothes. Everything seemed ready for a journey except Chad, who was supposed to drive but who had only an hour of sleep, and a tooth paste which we realized was absent in our bags after we got to a hotel. Although a navigator said that it was less than three hours driving to a destination, it took more than five hours due to a traffic jam caused by toll gates. Chad and I were challenging each other, driving 120 on badly paved freeways as if we were shooting a film. By overtaking so many cars, we could have reached to a hotel much faster. Yet, obstacles began to appear after we had arrived at our destination,
