Mona Lisa, or La Gioconda, is a 16th century oil painting on poplar wood by Leonardo da Vinci. It is owned by the French government and hangs in the Louvre museum in Paris. Mona Lisa is painted by the Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo da Vinci, who is the most famous artist during 15th century, is the painter of Mona Lisa. Leonardo da Vinci moved to Florence from the Tuscan village of Vinci. Leonardo was in the period of ‘Renaissance humanism’. People in Renaissance humanism believed that there were no mutual exclusive polarities between the sciences and the arts. But Leonardo thought differently. He studies in science and engineering are as impressive and innovative as his artistic work.
