In 21C, the topic of fashion market is definitely about speed. Each enterprises of fashion industry are shouting ‘earlier and faster’. In the past, companies of fashion industry predicted coming trend very carefully for next season, putting all the best efforts into design and produced the goods to market. And they waited for the judges of consumers.
They often wondered about predicting new trends and even if they succeed in catching the consumer’s taste of the season, it was impossible to produce new products in reflection from first step to shipment in the middle of the season. However, enterprises are not waiting anymore. They no more accept consumers’ judges passively. The changed environment made enterprises take ‘immediate reflection’ on even on delicate change in fashion trend. In fact, enterprises are now changing to ‘Real Time Enterprise’.
Former companies understood the importance of interaction with environment but there was gap between them and it took quite a long time to overcome the gap. Now, they are becoming one. At the time where it takes only 3 weeks for the consumer’s needs turning to the real product, there is not any gap between environment and companies. This innovation in fashion industry would have been impossible if there was not highly developed IT technology or human resources or ‘time shortening’ system.
