Non-chemical pest management methods
Non chemical pesticide acts were became effective from last month in Ontario. Residents that live in Ontario are not allowed to buy chemical pesticide anymore. How can we control insects, disease, and weeds at backyard in our house? Once you anticipate or identify pests, begin planning how you are going to manage them and how you can work them into an integrated pest management program. Here are some management methods such as Biological Controls, Cultural controls, and Physical controls.
Types of controls (12)
Biological controls these methods use living organisms to kill garden pests. They include releasing and encouraging beneficial insects and applying bacterial insecticides.
Cultural controls these are gardening practices that help prevent pest problems. You can integrate
Water plants properly using organic fertilizers as directed.
Make sure planting environment is kept clean and well ventilated. Avoid excessive moisture, as it is the most favorable atmosphere for pathogens to breed.
Remove rotting leaves and trash.
