태국의 입헌군주제로의 이행과 왕권 유지 (영문)

소개글

본 보고서는 현재 입헌군주제를 정치체제로 삼고 있는 태국에 대한 분석을 담았다. 우선 역사적인 맥락에서 태국이 어떻게 절대군주에서 입헌군주제로 이행하게 되었는지를 제시하였고 오늘날 왕권이 상당부분 약화되었음에도 불구하고 현 국왕 푸미폰 아둔야뎃이 오늘날 태국 정치에서 상당한 영향력을 발휘할 수 있는 이유를 제시해보았다.

As many other great civilization had been before, Throughout Thailand’s history had been adopted the kingdom system. And historically, the region that Thailand has been existed adopted Buddhism as not only religious concept but also political concept. According to Buddhism, the king has absolute power. Therefore as a result, Thailand had been absolute monarchy throughout the history. However, those absolute monarchies go into history as the democracy appeared by some elites. And then the king admitted the tendency and transit to be constitutional monarchy. Even though this modernize steps like other modern kingdom such as Great Britain or Japan, Thai monarchy still respected by majority of Thais and also hold some political power. There might be some reasons for it. First of all, the recent achievement by some Thai monarchy such as to be independent from western colonizers might be help them to be respected until now. Secondly, the king’s intelligent respond to people’s needing also help the king to be hold some power. In addition, Thai executive officer’s using of king’s legitimacy also could be the reason.
