본문내용
1. what is CALL ?
CALL is closely related to many other discipline and the computer.
It covers a variety of discrete fields such as general skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening, as well as autonomy, corpus lingusitics and testing. The difficulty of defining CALL is apparent.
- Computer-aided instruction (CAI)
- Computer assisted learning (CAL)
- Computer assisted language instruction (CALI)
- Computer-assisted language teaching (or testing) (CALT)
BUT, a general and useful definition is : any process in which a learner uses a computer and, as a result, improves his or her language.
CALL continues to grow in many directions. Currently, CALL interactions are likely to include sound, animation, video, and communication over local area networks, email and Internet chat lines.
2. Background to teaching with CALL
CALL in the language class room is evolving as quickly as computer technology itself evolves.
