The writer, Sherman Alexie is the most famous and beloved one in American literature. He has been chosen by Times as “one of the better new novelists, Indian or otherwise.” In his latest collection of short stories entitled “The Toughest Indian in the World”, we can meet the kind of American Indians we rarely see in literature. All stories in this book reflects Alexie`s and his characters` journeys in "the adult world." They must make choices about who they are, where they live and what they do, and, especially, who they`re with. Throughout the whole stories, he saw the world from the perspective of various Native American characters that he had encountered with. At first, I want to think about the story “Class” from the book, and I want to figure out what the writer wanted to tell the readers from the story.
